I am a professor within the School of Engineering and Natural Sciences, at the University of Iceland. I am the vice-head of the faculty of Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science.
I am an associated editor for the IEEE Transactions on Evolutionary Computation, and the new IEEE Transactions on Computational Intelligence and AI in Games. Member of the IEEE Computational Intelligence Society. Director of the Applied Mathematics group at the Science Institute and member of the board for IEEE Iceland Section.
My research interests include evolutionary computation, constraint handling, global optimization, approximated dynamic programming, statistical learning, and real world applications.
